Villa Valhalla

Boasting a spacious, open, and bright 6,900 sq. ft. with 6 nearly equal oceanfront bedrooms, Villa Valhalla is the perfect Akumal vacation villa for a large group who doesn’t want to draw straws to see who gets the best room. With an enviable Akumal location on the southern end of tranquil Half Moon Bay, Villa Valhalla is only a short stroll to the Akumal commercial center meaning there is no need for a vehicle here.  Within walking distance of Villa Valhalla are restaurants, bars, dive shops, convenience stores, gift shops, ATM, snorkeling excursions and deep sea fishing charters.

Villa Valhalla lends itself perfectly for entertaining. Large, inviting and open communal areas inside and out allow the group to comfortably spend time together preparing and/or sharing a meal, lounging around the pool, exchanging conversation, experiencing the fabulous views or watching a movie. The great room at Villa Valhalla is great for gathering and entertaining. It is warm, airy and casually inviting. With a wall full of sliding glass doors leading out to a large covered terrace with additional living and dining areas, this truly does become a great room…

The two dining tables each seat 10 comfortably and are separated by a sliding glass door. Villa Valhalla expansive and fully outfitted kitchen extends the other direction from the great room. It opens to the dining area with a large pass through ensuring that even when in the kitchen, you are still not out of the flow of conversation.

On the ground floor of Villa Valhalla are 2 of the 6 en-suite bedrooms. All of the bedrooms are of a similar size and layout. Each bedroom has Twin beds that can be set up as a King size. Additionally there is a Queen size futon in every bedroom should they be needed. This combination provides a great amount of flexibility to configure the sleeping arrangements to each group’s needs. Each of the bedrooms has a sliding glass door leading out to a covered terrace. All bedrooms are equipped with TV, satellite and DVD players and have an en-suite bathroom with tub/shower combinations. The exception is one of the bedrooms on the ground floor. This bedroom has been handicap modified with wider doors, lower counter tops and a shower in the bathroom with wide opening all tastefully done. Removable ramps provide wheel chair access into the home and out to the pool area should they be required.

On the second floor at the top of the landing is a large entertainment room. This room has a wraparound couch, large screen TV with satellite and DVD, computer center with wireless internet, desk and attached terrace with seating to enjoy the jungle view. Just like the main floor bedrooms, each of the four suites on the 2nd floor, have King beds which can be split into Twins, plus a Queen futon, sitting area, attached en-suite bathrooms with shower/tub combinations, satellite TV with DVD and sliding glass doors leading out to a large covered terrace. A large oceanfront terrace stretches in front of 3 of the 4 second floor bedrooms providing an inviting place to relax and take in the pool and ocean views. The 4th bedroom is slightly set back providing a private terrace allowing for a little intimacy without sacrificing the postcard views.

Villa Valhalla has a large pool with infinity edge creating the illusion that the pool just carries on straight into the ocean. The pool has a shallow end for children and a large thatch roof palapa with hammocks to hang out to in the shade. Just beyond the pool is a manmade sandy area. Beyond that it is rocky coral which can make it difficult to get in and out of the water directly in front of the villa, but… this coral provides good habitat for sea life so the snorkeling is good right here. A very short stroll down the oceanfront will take you to a sandy beach where it is easy to get into the water for swimming and wading.

Villa Valhalla rooftop mirador provides a spectacular view of Half Moon Bay. A sitting area to enjoy the panoramic view over a late afternoon cocktail or a day bed to tan or star gaze, makes this another wonderful space to enjoy.

RATES

NOTES

1. Rates are in US dollars and do NOT include 22% tax.
2. Rates are subject to change until reservation is confirmed.
3. Dates for the seasons may differ, please confirm.
4. Base Rate is for up to 12 persons. Add $500 USD per week for each additional adult or $250 USD for children under 9 years of age. Children under 24 months of age at time of arrival are NOT considered in the head count and are FREE.
5. The maximum occupancy is 18 guests.
6. Unless otherwise agreed to, the minimum rental periods are 7 nights during Christmas & NY and winter seasons, and 5 nights during the rest of the year.
7. A non-refundable $40 USD Accidental Damage Waiver Fee is required, which provides up to $1000 USD in coverage.
8. Access to this property is limited to the persons indicated on your confirmation.  Exceeding this limit, parties, dinners, get-togethers, drop in visitors, or any other form of access involving non registered guests is a direct violation of our rental agreement and could be reason to ask you to vacate unless prior permission has been granted.
9. Smoking is not allowed inside the house.

WEDDINGS & SPECIAL EVENTS POLICY

The villa may not be used for special events or weddings without prior authorization and arrangements. All events are considered on a case by case basis and require written permission from the owner or property manager.

Event fees below will be added to the standard rental rates:
*25 total attendees including house guests: add $500 USD to rental rate.
*26-50 total attendees including house guests: add $1000 USD to rental rate.
*51-100 total attendees including house guests: add $1500 USD to rental rate.
*Maximum group size 100 people including house guests plus any day guests.
*A minimum of a 5 day rental is required (7 day rental during high season and holiday weeks).
*In respect for neighboring properties, all events must be completed by 12 midnight.

Event planner is required. The property will only allow Jennifer and Manda from Turtle Bay Weddings as event planners. Weddings and events are required to have them as event planners. Event planner’s staff is responsible for the following:
* Set up and take down of all chairs, tables, etc.
* All event planning functions
* Cleaning up of villa communal areas at the end of the event
* Food and beverage service

Additional Information:
* Security deposit is $1000 USD for events with 25 guests or less, and $2000 USD for events with 26-100 guests. Deposit is fully refundable upon departure barring any undue damage.
