Casa Gris

The Gray family have lovingly created a little oasis on one of the best residential beaches on the Riviera Maya at Aventuras Akumal. This amazing beach is what you dream of when thinking of an idyllic, tropical beach vacation. A long stretch of deep white sand to bury your feet in. A crystal clear blue ocean lapping at the shore that is bathwater warm. Coconut palms lofting in the breeze while offering a little shade, and a reef teeming with aquatic life just a short way from the shoreline that is perfect for fishing or diving. This is Aventuras Akumal and it could be yours for a week or two.

Centrally located directly on the beach, Casa Gris is a budget friendly option in a million dollar location. Casa Gris is made up of a main villa with three ocean view suites plus a self contained casita or ‘little house’ at the back side of the property with two more bedrooms, living area and full kitchen.

A beach front swimming pool with a covered, swim up bar and grilling area, is the ideal place to hang out during the day. Swim up to the bar on one side, or plop yourself down in a swing on the other side of the bar. Chaise lounges on the sand or a hammock under a palm are equally inviting. For those who want to get a little exercise, a double kayak is provided.

The living area in the main villa is airy and quite cozy with a vaulted ceiling of thatch palapa. This combined with that beach & ocean view creates a true tropical feel. An entertainment center with satellite TV, DVD player with small movie & book library, and board games are available when you need a break from the sun and water. The living area opens up into a dining/kitchen area that has a walk out to the terrace and pool. The round dining table sits 6.  Outside on the terrace under a thatch cover, there is another table for dining al fresco, or that can be brought inside for larger groups.

On the ground floor is the Master bedroom with en-suite bathroom equipped with a shower. This bedroom has a King bed and view of the pool, beach and ocean just beyond. Heading upstairs are two more bedrooms. Both of these rooms have internal windows that open to provide a dramatic view of the living room below. The first of the second floor bedrooms has a Double/Full size bed plus a Single bed. A sliding glass door opens to a small balcony with ocean view. The en-suite bathroom is done in colorful Mexican tile and fitted with a shower. The second bedroom on this level has a Double/Full bed, equally Mexican style en-suite bathroom with shower and a similar balcony with the same great view. Both of the second floor bedrooms have a stunning view from their balconies. What a fabulous way to greet the day.

Stepping outside of the main villa you follow a garden pathway back towards the off street parking area. Here you will find the ‘casita’ or little house. This self contained apartment has two additional bedrooms for larger groups. The casita has a large open plan sitting and dining area with a full kitchen at the far end. While meals for the group will most likely be made and taken in the main villa, having a place for your morning coffee or late night snack can be convenient. Plus the spacious sitting area is ideal for someone wanting a little privacy.

There are two bedrooms in the casita. One has two Single beds that can be converted into a King. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom attached that is fitted with a shower. The second bedroom in the casita has a King bed, with a bathroom with shower just outside of the bedroom entry door.

Close to the villa is the Hacienda Dona Isabela shopping complex where you will find souvenir shops, an ATM machine and various other shops. For the golfers in the group, the Riviera Maya Golf Club located on the Bahia Principe property, which is one of the highest rated in the area, is just across the street. Spanning 223 acres and set within 717 acres of tropical rainforest, this course was designed by Robert Trent Jones II who is well known for applying environmental sensibility with the latest technology.

Please note that this region of the Riviera Maya may be affected by shifting seasonal currents and weather patterns causing an influx of seaweed on the beach.

NOTES

1. Rates are in US dollars and do NOT include 22% tax.
2. Rates are subject to change until reservation is confirmed
3. Base rate is for up to 6 persons. Add $350 USD per each additional person (plus 22% tax).
4. Maximum occupancy is 11 people.
5. The minimum rental is normally 7 nights. During low and mid seasons reservations of 4, 5 and 6 nights will be considered. For these reservations of less than a week, there will be a 15% surcharge.
6. A non-refundable $45 USD Accidental Damage Waiver Fee is required, which provides up to $1500 USD in coverage.
7. Access to this property is limited to the persons indicated on your confirmation. Exceeding this limit, parties, dinners, get-togethers, drop in visitors, or any other form of access involving non registered guests is a direct violation of our rental agreement and could be reason to ask you to vacate unless prior permission has been granted.
8. Smoking is not allowed inside the main house or garden casita.
